pushes demand for CCTV cameras
Vijayawada: The welfare associations of various colonies and apartments
in the city are keen to install the CCTV cameras in hyderabad
at apartments and colonies in the city to step up the security. After
bifurcation of the state, the city gained prominence, thanks to the construction
of capital city Amaravati. Many people, including job seekers and labourers,
are coming to the city in search of livelihood.

Hence, the owners of small
shops and other establishments in the colonies are also advised to install CCTV cameras to avoid any untoward incident. The 135 registered
welfare associations of colonies and apartments have been instructed by the
police department to install CCTV cameras in hyderabad.
Several apartments have
already been equipped with CCTV cameras in hyderabad and
some of them are yet to fix. But majority of the colonies and apartments, which
were constructed in the recent past, have been equipped with CCTV
cameras.
The owners of apartments at
Mogulrajapuram, Labbipet, Gandhinagar, Benz Circle, Patamata Colony, Gurunanank
Colony, Postal Colony, Gayathri Nagar, Suryaraopet, Governerpet,
Satyanarayanapuram were the first to install CCTV cameras. Later,
other areas also started installing the CCTV cameras on their
premises.
Now the
builders are also including the CCTV cameras in hyderabad security
provision for every apartment or colony, said Bezwada Builders Association
president G Rajalingam. Former corporator Bobba Srinivasa Rao said earlier
Gunadala and Patamatalanka were villages. But now due to the rise in migration
from other parts of state, the residents should give priority for security, he
said.
The
Welfare Association of LIC Colony planning to install CCTV cameras at
the entrance point of four roads. The residents of the colony has taken a
decision to install CCTV cameras at a meeting
recently. Actually, the colony residents especially women are afraid of chain
snatchings.
Hence,
police set up a special post. The higher officials of police department are
also residents in the colony since the shifting of staff from Hyderabad.
A Venkateswara Rao, a resident of the colony, said that chain
snatching and several crime incidents could be controlled in the colony by
installing the CCTV cameras. The
maintenance is affordable, he added. Anne Srikrishna Rao, owner of Annex
Security Systems, said the sale of CCTV cameras was
increased.
