The Civil Supplies Department
of Jammu and Kashmir will start working on the installation of command control
rooms and CCTV cameras in Hyderabad in
their warehouses to track illegal activities hereafter.
To observe the functioning of
command control rooms, CCTV surveillance system and e-POS (Point of Sale) machines in
ration shops in Hyderabad, a team of officials from the Civil Supplies
department of Jammu and Kashmir will be stationed in the city for two days,
Zulfikar Ali said.
On the first day, the team
visited the command control room in Civil Supplies Bhavan, a ration shop in
Khairtabad and a warehouse in Azamabad. The team also interacted with Civil
Supplies Commissioner CV Anand and discussed the functioning of modern
techniques to curb illegal activities related to Civil Supplies.
The decision to send their team
was taken after Chowdary Zulfikar Ali visited Telangana in May this year and
took notice of the command control rooms in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Civil
Supplies Commissioner, CV Anand said that after installing CCTV cameras in
nine warehouses across Hyderabad this year, the department will soon install CCTV cameras in warehouses
across the State.
He further added that e-POS
systems are being installed in 14 districts and in the next two months these
systems will be installed across the State.
